MP calls on government to start distribution of relief food

The government was demanded its immediate commence in the relief food distribution programme in the country as the drought is revenging many parts of the country.

Abdullahi Shair, a member of Somali parliament said Somali people in all parts of the country were facing starvation.

He said they have taken up the matter with the relevant government authorities including Drought Respond Committee.

“We are doing everything possible to ensure the people benefits from the food aid the government has,” he said.

Shair warned the government against making itself with meetings saying that the situation is getting out of hand; let the government waste its time on meetings.

He said the lawmakers would continue demanding for fair treatment of their people.

The MP says that the Government needs to speed up the process of relief food distribution to residents.
