MP Fiqi: Sahafi Hotel attack was a target to assassinate MPs
Ahmed Mohamed Fiqi a member of the federal parliament speaking to a press conference in the capital, Mogadishu today has addressed about the latest car bombing attacks that killed more than 20 people in Mogadishu.
He said that the hotel was resided by almost 50 members of the federal parliament and pointed out that the federal government has not yet carried any investigation about the attack.
The lawmaker said the suspects who attacked the hotel were dressed in the latest uniform, as well as the latest weapons distributed to the federal government soldiers.
Fiqi added that the plan to attack Sahafi hotel was a prominent target to assassinate the members of the parliament who were residing there.
He called out for the selected committee to carry out deep investigation and apprehend how Al-Shabaab militants managed to have the latest uniform and weapons of the federal government soldiers.
The Somali National Assembly has appointed a committee to investigate the attack at the hotel’s Saxafi hotel on 9th November to find out on how Al-Shabaab militants who have attacked the Hotel have managed to have the latest government soldier’s uniform.
