MP Jibril Haji escapes grenade attack on his home

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Jibril Abdirashid Haji, one of the members of the Somali Federal Parliament, escaped a grenade attack after unknown assailants hurled a hand grenade on his residence in the Taleh neighborhood of Hodan district, Tuesday night.

According to security officials, the MP was unhurt but several of his guards sustained minor injuries from the blast.

Jibril, who was one of the lawmakers elected in the town of El Wak in Gedo region has not yet commented on the attempt on his life.

Security forces from Hodan district are said to have arrived at Jibril’s house and conducted a manhunt for the perpetrators but were unable to apprehend anyone.
