Puntland soldiers seize assembly over delayed pay
The forces of the semi-autonomous regional state of Puntland have take control of Puntland assembly in Garowe town over complaints of delayed salaries and poor working conditions.
The soldiers are complaining about poor welfare and lack of salaries for the last few months, according our correspondent in Garowe.
“The soldiers say they have not received salaries for months and lacked adequate support from the government. This morning the soldiers barricaded the parliament building and took control,” said Goobjoog News correspondent.
The incident follows a take over of the central bank few months ago by the soldiers over pay.
