My government will safeguard interests of Somali women, says prime minister Omar

Somali government said that women will get sizable number in the forthcoming parliament and other government departments.

Speaking to members of women’s group on Tuesday, Somali prime minister Omar Abdirashid said the Government will ensure women participation in all national functions and processes to ensure they received their share of national cake and positions.

He pledged women officials that the government will safeguard the 30% reservation for women.

“I reiterate before you today my administration’s position on women affairs. You have an important role to play and you must and will get your share in elective and appointment positions in the government” said Sharmarke.

Somali government has promised that women will get 30% of the national thought the currently government was not  based on  the ratio.
