National Army Boss, Police Chief Visit Injured Soldiers Following Clash with Al-Shabaab in Afmadow
GOOBJOOG NEWS/MIDDLE JUBA: Somali National Army chief Major General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhuddin and the Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier Sulub Ahmed Firin have visited the soldiers who were injured in fighting with Al-Shabaab on Monday.
The two senior security officials lauded the soldiers for their gallant efforts in the war against Al-Shabaab on in Harboole area of Afmadow district in Middle Juba region on Monday.
According to spokesperson for the Jubaland regional forces Major Mohamed Farah Dahir, 135 militants were killed in the attacks.
He said at least six militants were captured alive. He also said that the biggest casualty event occurred in Bulo Haji.
The militants had attacked Bulo Haji, Harbole, and Mido, all of which were seized from al-Shabab since last month. The militants also fired on a fourth base at Bar Sanguni in an apparent attempt to disrupt possible reinforcement to the bases under attack.
