National communication strategy workshop kicks off in Mogadishu
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: A three-day National Communication Strategy workshop organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism has kicked off in Mogadishu.
The workshop has attracted participants from the information departments both from the Federal Government, Banadir region and others from the various media and social sectors across the country.
According to the Information Ministry director Abdullahi Khayir Duale, the workshop is targets to find a unified strategy for media outlets to address the various challenges in the country such as insecurity and improving relationship between the various government agencies and the people of Somalia.
“The workshop will deliberate on ways to create guidelines that will dissemination of information based on the needs of the people of Somalia,” he said.
The director added that his ministry had already set up an office that will ensure a unified dissemination of government information which has so far guaranteed accuracy and that the citizens get information reelecting the true position of government.
He revealed that the workshop will be followed by other consultation forums with the regional governments and other communication stakeholders.
