National Electoral Body Registers Voters in Warane, Galmudug

GOOBJOOG NEWS | HARARDHERE: The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has begun registering voters in the Warane area of Harardhere district, in Galmudug State, as part of preparations for nationwide one-person-one-vote elections.

The commission said the exercise aims to give residents of Warane and nearby communities the opportunity to enroll and take part in future national polls.

Local residents welcomed the initiative, calling it a crucial step toward strengthening democratic participation and improving governance in the region.

The registration drive is part of broader federal efforts to establish a unified electoral system across Somalia, moving away from the long-standing clan-based selection process.
