National Forum of Judges Ends With Renewed Push for Justice Reform
GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The National Forum of Judges concluded in Mogadishu on Thursday, closing a major gathering aimed at strengthening Somalia’s justice system and tackling persistent challenges within the courts.
The forum brought together judges from across the country, legal scholars, federal officials and civil society representatives. Over several days, participants examined the operational hurdles affecting the justice sector and discussed ways to enhance transparency, institutional independence and public trust.
Discussions also focused on improving court efficiency, harmonising judicial practices and deepening cooperation between the judiciary and local communities to ensure fairer, more accessible justice.
Chief Justice Bashe Yusuf Ahmed presided over the closing session. He praised the organisers and thanked participants for their contributions, noting that the recommendations from the forum would help guide Somalia’s ongoing judicial reforms.
