New Mogadishu sheriff takes over office

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The new boss of the Benadir administration and Mayor of Mogadishu, Sheikh Yusuf Hussein Jimale (Madaale), was handed over the reins of power by his predecessor, Omar Mohamud Mohamed (Filish), in a ceremony held in Somalia’s Hamar district.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ministers, Members of Parliament, Traditional Elders, and sections of the community. 

The outgoing governor thanked members of his former administration for the cooperation they accorded him during his tenure, and urged them to extend the same to the incoming administration.

For his part, the new sheriff promised to give priority to the security situation and strengthen cooperation between security agencies and the local communities living in the Somali capital, among other priorities.
