New Traffic Lights Installed In Garowe

The local government authority of Garowe, the capital city of Puntland State of Somalia has installed the first ever Traffic light at one of the main interjection in the city.

But this did not go without hitches as it caused several car accidents because motorists lack basic knowledge of how the machine works.

Garowe municipal manager Abdiwali Ismael Yusuf blamed the traffic department of abandoning to carry out its duty; he said they should have placed officers at the site of the traffic light, so that they could help to prevent accidents to happen.

But the head of the traffic department hit back, saying that it’s the fault of the municipal authority, “they erected the traffic light at the wrong place and programmed with wrong timing” said the he official.
