New US Ambassador to Somalia submits his credentials

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The new US Ambassador to Somalia, Larry Edward André, has today submitted a copy of his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdisaid Muse Ali.

Larry André takes over from Donald Yamamoto, whose 3-year stint as US Ambassador to Somalia came to an end.

The new US Ambassador to Somalia and the Minister of Foreign Affairs discussed strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two Governments in various sectors including, security, economy and diplomacy.

Muse Ali congratulated the new US Ambassador on his appointment and reiterated the Government’s commitment in supporting him as he pursues his diplomatic mission.

On his part, the new Ambassador pledged to strengthen diplomatic and security ties between the two countries.
