Newly appointed police commissioner resumes office
The newly appointed Somali police commissioner Gen. Mohamed Hassan resumed office in a well executed handovering ceremony held in Mogadishu on Sunday.
The ceremony was attended by the assistant minister for national security Ibrahim Yaroow Issak and other government officials.
The minister praised the outgoing police commissioner Gen. Said for recommendable job he did during his time in office and succeeded to restore law and order with the help of the community.
He urged the appointed police commissioner Gen. Mohamed Hassan to double his effort so as to accomplish the goals of the police forces.
Both the outgoing police commissioner and the new commissioner have not given at the ceremony, but the new police commissioner in a statement said that the police force will take new steps and strategies meant to maintain the overall security of the country.
