GOOBJOOG NEWS | ADALE: The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) has begun a voter registration campaign in Adale district, a coastal town in the Middle Shabelle region of Hirshabelle State, marking a key step in the country’s ongoing electoral preparations.

The launch ceremony brought together officials from the NIEBC, regional and local authorities, and community leaders. Among those attending were Hirshabelle State lawmaker Geedi Oomane and Adale District Commissioner, who jointly underscored the importance of inclusive participation.

NIEBC representatives urged residents of Adale and surrounding areas to register, calling voter enrollment the foundation of citizens’ right to choose their leaders in future polls.

The registration exercise is part of Somalia’s wider effort to strengthen its democratic institutions and expand political participation at the regional level.
