NIS officer felled by unknown gunmen in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A Somali National Intelligence Security officer has this morning been killed in cold blood near Seibiyano Junction in the capital, Mogadishu.

The officer, identified as Mohamed Abdullahi Garasey (Sheikh Jaa’ib), is said to have been shot to death while shopping for groceries at the Seybeyan Market in Hodan District, Banadir Region.

According to witness reports, the assailants, after shooting the officer to death, fled the scene of murder taking with them the slain officer’s pistol and laptop.

Banadir Regional police arrived at the scene minutes after the shooting and conducted prior investigations, although no one has been arrested so far.
