NISA Kill 12 Al-Shabaab Fighters in Major Counter-Terrorism Push

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Somali security forces, working with international partners, killed 12 Al Shabaab militants, including senior figures, in a planned operation in the central Galgaduud region, the government said on Saturday.

The National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) said 13 more fighters were wounded in the raid on Ceel-dhiiqo Weyne, between Ceel-lahelay and Ceel-garas.

NISA said the strike also hit a training base used by more than 400 Al-Shabaab members, underscoring ongoing efforts to dismantle the group’s military capacity. Operations are continuing to pursue militants who fled towards Ceelbuur district.

Officials hailed the operation as part of a broader campaign to restore stability and secure areas long threatened by the militant group, which has posed a major threats to civilians in Somalia.
