NISA Kills 6 Al-Shabaab Members in an Operation in Hiran Region

GOOBJOOG NEWS | HIRAN REGION: Six Al-Shabaab leaders have been killed in an operation conducted by the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) together with its international partners at Buqdaaqable area in Hiran region.

In its statement, NISA said the militants were killed when two vehicles they were travelling in were targeted during the operation.

The Intelligence agency said the top militants were in the government’s wanted list for their involvement in various terror activities and harassing members of the public.  

The killed militants were identified as; Osman Ali Abdi, who was the leader of public extortion in Jalalaqsi District, Buulle Kabey who was the head of transportation in the Middle Shabelle region, Mohamed Abukar who led extortion in El-Ali area of ​​Hiran Region.

Others are; Abdisalan who led extortion in the Middle Shabelle region, Teacher Yasir, also known as Sabir, who was a security guard at an Al-shabaab police station in Shaw area of ​​Hiran region and Adan Fanax who led extortion and economic manipulation for the militia group.

The National Intelligence and Security Agency said it has intensified its operations aimed at eliminating the militants and stopping them from harassing and extorting members of the public.
