Noor Iidow Belye has won the federal Lower House seat of HirShabelle State

 

Noor Iidow Belye has won the federal Lower House seat of HirShabelle State with 27 votes. His rival Abdullahi Mohamed Sanbaloloshe got 24 votes.

The election which took place today in Jowhar town, the state capital, went into a second round.

The seat which belongs to Ali Madahweyne, a sub clan of Hawadle tribe from Hiran region, was competed for by nearly six candidates.

The final result was announced by the chairperson of the National Independent Electoral (NIE) Halima Ismail Ibrahim.

Chairperson Ibrahim also thanked HirShabelle state administration for providing a conducive arena for the election to take place smoothly.
