Northeastern State President Visits Frontline Military Base, Urges Heightened Security Alert

GOOBJOOG NEWS| LAS ANOD : The President of the Northeastern State administration, Abdikadir Ahmed Aw-Ali, on Monday visited the Dervish forces’ military base at Salinta, where he inspected troops and held security talks with senior commanders amid ongoing security concerns.
According to a statement from the presidency, President Aw-Ali was received at the base by members of the Dervish forces and reviewed a guard of honour before greeting soldiers individually.
During the visit, the president met with military commanders to discuss the security situation, stressing the need for heightened vigilance and preparedness to respond to any threats from groups opposed to the existence of the Northeastern State administration.
The statement said the discussions focused on strengthening the forces’ operational readiness and ensuring they remain prepared to respond swiftly to any emerging security challenges.
President Aw-Ali also praised the Dervish forces for what he described as their dedication and sacrifice in safeguarding the people and protecting the administration’s territory.
He pledged that his government would complete outstanding entitlements for members of the security forces and finalise ongoing reforms within the state’s security institutions, which he said are nearing completion.
The visit comes as regional administrations across Somalia continue to emphasise military preparedness in response to persistent security threats from armed groups operating in parts of the country.
