One person killed in landmine attack in El-Wak, Kenya

One person has been killed and another injured when a land cruiser they were travelling in hit a landmine in the border town of El-Wak in Kenya’s north east.

Mandera County Commissioner Fredrick Shisia told the media the vehicle belonging to a construction company hit the landmine killing one of the occupants.

The incident comes barely 24 hours after the militant group Al-Shabaab killed a chief and abducted two police reservists in Omar Jillo area in Mandera county.
