Three killed in bomb explosion in Beledweyne

Three people have been killed and several others injured in a bomb blast in Beledweyne town in central Somalia

An eye witness said the explosion happened on Friday night at an checkpoint mounted by local militias.

“There was a loud bang at the checkpoint and two people had been killed in the blast” said the witness.

Several people who were injured have been rushed to a hospital for medical attention.

No group has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
