One soldiers dies and five others injured in landmine explosion in Afgoye

At least one SNA soldier was killed and five others injured after their vehicle ran over landmine in outskirt of Afgoye town.

Goobjoog New correspondent says the land mine explosion killed a government soldier and wounded five others.

“The bomb buried the road side went off, the driver of the military vehicle died while 5 others injured,” he said.

The security forces launched operations to pursue the perpetrators though nobody was arrested yet.

A resident in the area said that the casualties in Wednesday’s attack were mainly army soldiers who were travelling to conduct operations in villages near Afgoye, 30Kms north-west of Mogadishu.

“The land-mine blast destroyed a vehicle which was part of a convoy that was about to leave the military base in the town of Afgoye and drive west of the town to conduct security operation,” said a witness.
