ONLF says Ethiopia killed over forty people village Somali-Ethiopia border
Ogaden liberation front rebels (ONLF) have accused Ethiopian government of being killing more than 40 Somali civilians in Northern part of Somalia.
Sheikh Abdullahi, who is the commander of ONLF said Ethiopia’s paramilitary forces, Liyu Police killed over forty people and displaced many other.
He said the attacks were affecting a vast area and the casualties are very high. “The Liyu force have used excessive force and up to 45 have been killed,”
A resident of the raided village, who identified himself as Mohamed Saeed has told that those killed unarmed civilians who remained in the villages after the majority of residents fled the village.
The incident occurred after hundreds of Liyu police raided the village different points.
According to sources, the forces started shooting the residents of the village indiscriminately.
The Ethiopian troops are often accused of committing brutal actions against the Somali people who live in eastern regions in Ethiopian.
ONLF rebels are fighting for the independence of the Somali-inhabited regions in eastern Ethiopia.
