GOOBJOOG NEWS|MECCA: More than 1.8 million Muslim pilgrims from around the globe gathered at the holy site of Mount Arafat today to observe the pinnacle ritual of the annual Hajj pilgrimage. Figures tracking the current season indicate a total attendance of over 1.8 million worshippers, surpassing previous metrics despite regional travel challenges.

According to updates tracking arrival data, over 1.5 million international pilgrims journeyed from abroad to take part in the sacred rites.
Known as the “standing at Arafat,” this pivotal day is dedicated to intense prayer, repentance, and spiritual reflection, symbolizing the universal unity of the global Muslim community.
To accommodate the massive influx, the Saudi Arabian government deployed enhanced services this year focused on crowd management, safety, and pilgrim welfare.

Key logistical upgrades include high-tech digital routing systems and the expansion of the Nusuk platform, which streamlines scheduling and information access for worshippers. Additionally, transportation networks linking the holy sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah were upgraded to handle the high volume of commuters.
Healthcare infrastructure also received a significant boost, with Saudi authorities increasing the number of emergency response centers and field hospitals to ensure immediate medical attention.

Strict crowd-control protocols were enforced throughout the day to prevent congestion and guarantee public safety during the synchronized movement of the masses.
Saudi officials stated that these comprehensive modernizations are part of a broader, long-term strategy to optimize the logistics of the world’s largest annual gathering.
