Over 40 Al-shabaab militants killed in Lower Juba

GOOBJOOG NEWS | LOWER JUBBA: Over 40 Al-shabaab militants have been killed in an aerial attack by the Somali National Army (SNA) with its international partners in Welmaro, 40 kilometers from Afmadow in the Lower Jubba region early Sunday.

The dawn attack targeted the terrorists’ hideout and a weapons depot belonging to the Al-Shabaab militants which was completely destroyed. High ranking Al-shabaab militants were also neutralized in the attack.

The SNA and its international partners have stepped up their operations against Al-Shabaab in recent months, in an offensive aimed at eradicating the militants and restoring peace and stability in Somalia.

The latest attack is a significant blow to Al-Shabaab and a clear indication of the SNA’s determination to defeat the group.
