Parliament Advances Talks On Proposed Constitutional Amendments

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Members of Somalia’s upper and lower houses of parliament have concluded deliberations on proposed amendments to Articles 49, 50 and 54 of Chapter Four of the provisional constitution.
Lawmakers are now set to begin discussions on proposed changes to Chapters Five through Nine, with particular attention on Chapter Five, which covers the structure and powers of the federal system.
The constitutional review process is part of Somalia’s broader effort to complete and clarify its provisional constitution, a key step in strengthening governance and advancing state-building reforms.
