Parliament Committee Approves Agenda as Legislature Prepares for New Session

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: The parliamentary Standing Committee on Thursday approved the legislative agenda for next week’s sessions of the People’s House, clearing the way for debate on several key items when Parliament reconvenes.

The committee, chaired by Second Deputy Speaker Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, endorsed the schedule by a show of hands after reviewing the proposals during its meeting at Villa Hargeisa.

Members also confirmed the appointment of Maryan Ali Abukar as Deputy Minister for Family and Human Rights Development after administering her oath of office.

Deputy Speaker Abshirow said the approval of the agenda ensures Parliament can move ahead with priority legislation in its 7th session, urging members to accelerate work on pressing national issues.
