Parliament picks presidential election joint committee
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A committee of 14 MPs and Senators will lead the process toward the election of a new president following an electoral cycle that has lasted close to one year.
A joint session of the Federal Parliament today selected eight MPs and six Senators to set the ground for the election of a new president. The vote is expected to take place by around mid-month. Over 50 candidates have expressed interest to seek an election as the country’s next leader.
