Parliamentary Election Committee to hold its first meeting
GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: The 10-member organizing committee tasked to elect the official Speakers of the House of the People of the 11th Parliament is expected to hold its first meeting in Mogadishu today.
The Committee, which was formed by Somalia’s Lower House after it held its first session on Thursday is today set to elect a Speaker and his two deputies from among themselves and thereafter lay down plans for the election of the Speaker of the House of the People of the Somali Parliament.
The Committee is also expected to issue a timeline for the election of the Speaker of the House of the People of the Somali parliament, a process which is expected to be carried out in the coming days.
