People in Balad strongholds complain about life situation
The residents of the Balcad district of Middle Shabelle region said that there is a difficult situation in the lives of the people in the region after the floods of the Shabelle River in the recent past months.
People living in seven villages under Balcad district have said that they are facing the major impact of the floods of river Shabelle and demanding for emergency aid.
Haji Hassan Haji Ali a community chairman of Bulo Haji Ali told Goobjoog News that people in the region need a lot of help of any kind.
The people in the region particularly called on the governor of Balad district and Jowhar administrations to do an emergency help before the current situation get worse.
Heavy rain in many parts of the Juba and Shabelle river basins both in Somalia has caused flooding in some areas of the country.
Many people have been affected by the flooding of Juba and Shabelle river whereby many families are displaced from their homes following the heavy rains received across the country in April, the food security outcomes are likely to be more severe than previously projected for many families in areas affected by flooding, especially in riverine areas of Hirshabelle, Jubaland and some agropastoral areas of South West State. In these areas, several roads are now impassible and trade flows are expected to slow, driving food prices higher.
