PHOTOS: Explosives-laden vehicle explodes, casualties feared

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: A vehicle loaded with explosives went burst around Debka area near the Lower House Building Saturday morning after security forces fired at it destroying several vehicles and buildings in the area.

There is no immediate report on casualties but several people are feared to have been caught up in the 9 am blast that sent shockwaves around the central business district.

The vehicle which has been identified as a Noah model was reportedly heading towards parliament when security forces manning the Debka junction fired at it after it failed to stop.

The Lower House building and the presidential palace are located within the same area about 800 metres from Debka junction.
