PM Barre Says Arabic Vital to Governance and National Unity

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has said that strengthening Arabic is vital to Somalia’s nation-building, as he launched a program to promote the country’s second official language.

PM Barre told the inauguration of the Somali Arabic Language Empowerment Program that Arabic plays a central role in governance, legislation and education, as well as fostering national unity.

He said boosting Arabic education would not only preserve Somalia’s cultural identity but also deepen its integration with the Arab world, enhancing political and economic partnerships.
