GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal government of Somalia Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre Saturday unveiled the Somali Justice System Strategy 2025-2029, under the theme “Building an Equal Justice System with Transparency, Access, and Accountability.”

The pivotal strategy marks a significant milestone in the nation’s efforts to establish a robust and equitable justice system.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Barre emphasized the strategy’s foundation on citizen-centered justice, particularly aimed at supporting vulnerable groups such as women and children.

The Prime Minister added that the strategy outlines a clear path to creating an integrated justice system that aligns with the federal structure, rooted in Somali values, culture, and sound religious principles.

Further, the Prime Minister said the strategy also addresses the unique circumstances and challenges facing Somalia and its people.

“Justice plays an integral role in all facets of life—economically, socially, in security, and in leadership. It is tied to the rights and truths that must be upheld without bias based on color, clan, or power,” he said.

Prime Minister Barre also expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs for their dedicated efforts in developing the National Strategy and called on the judiciary to serve the Somali people impartially and to avoid actions that could lead to bias or abuse of power.

This strategy launch signifies a strong commitment from the Somali government to advance justice and reinforce the rule of law, fostering a society where fairness and accountability prevail.
