PM Barre Meets Somali Businessmen in Nairobi, Urges then to Invest in Somalia
GOOBJOOG NEWS | NAIROBI: Federal Republic of Somalia Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met Somali Businessmen in Nairobi Kenya Tuesday, where they discussed various issues including investment opportunities in Somalia.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister urged the businessmen to invest in Somalia, and encourage them to focus on increasing production which he said is a key catalyst of economic growth.
He further encouraged them to also come up with programs that can create jobs for the youth, whom he said are in need of job opportunities.
The Prime Minister also revealed that the federal government was actively exploring the East African Community market, which he said was a new opportunity to spur development in the country.
“I am calling on businessmen to invest in the country, which can create job opportunities. This investment is an opportunity to benefit from our membership in the East African Community (EAC), which is a new market and a large economic development,” he said.
