PM Barre Shuffles Ministers, Deputies in New Gov’t Changes

GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Hamze Barre has made a series of changes in his cabinet in a major shakedown amid political undertones ahead of the elections next year.

In the new cabinet look, Defence Minister Abdikadir Nuur has been moved to the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport, where he replaces Abdullahi Ahmed Jama (Ilkajir). Jibriil Abdirashid Haaji Abdi was formerly the Minister of Commerce and Industry.

Mahmoud Ahmed Aadan (Geesood), a new entrant, becomes the Minister for Commerce and Industry.

Below is a list of new ministers and deputies appointed by the PM:

1. Mr. Jibriil Abdirashid Haaji Abdi – Minister of Defence

2. Mr. Abdiqadir Mohamed Nuur – Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport

3. Mr. Mahmoud Ahmed Aadan (Geesood) – Minister of Trade and Industry

4. Mr. Mohamed Farah Nuuh – Minister of Transport and Aviation

5. Mr. Mohamed Abdiqadir Ali – Minister of Youth and Sports

6. Mr. Mahmoud Abdiqadir Haaji (Jeego) – Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation

7. Mr. Sahuur Haaji Culusow Hassan – Deputy Minister of Energy and Water

8. Mr. Sulub Ahmed Firin – Deputy Minister of Internal Security

9. Mr. Mahmoud Abdullahi Ahmed (Abukaate) – Deputy Minister of Commerce and Industry

10. Mr. Aamina Hussein Ali – Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs

11. Mr. Hussein Ali Haaji – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change

12. Mw. Fartuun Abdiqadir Farah – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport

13. Mr. Mohamed Aden Mohamed (Baydhabo Janaay) – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Planning, Investment & Economic Development

14. Mr. Mohamed Hussein Abuukar (Gaaraxo) – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing

15. Mw. Dahabo Suusow Muunye – Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Youth and Sports
