GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has called on Chinese businesses to invest in the country, pledging government support and highlighting new opportunities in natural resources and development projects.

Speaking at a forum connecting Somali and Chinese business communities, Barre said Somalia’s “investment-friendly policies” and strategic location offered significant potential for trade and partnership.

He pointed to the government’s National Transformation Plan (NTP) as the framework for rebuilding the economy and attracting foreign direct investment.

“The NTP is Somalia’s roadmap for progress,” Barre told delegates, inviting Chinese companies to play a role in the country’s growth.

The engagement is part of a broader government strategy to expand international economic cooperation as Somalia seeks to recover from decades of conflict and instability.
