PM Barre Says Security Officers Will Face Arrest Following Liddo Beach Attack

GOOBOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Hamze Barre has declared a swift action including the arrest of security officers who were based in the Liddo area following the Friday night attack that claimed close to 40 lives.

Speaking after visiting the injured at Erdogan Hospital in Mogadishu, the Prime Minister said all officers who were based in the area will be held into account for the security breach which resulted in the deadly attack.

At least 35 people, many of them young people are known to have died following the Beachview Restaurant attack.

The Prime Minister said the terrorist group Al-Shabaab targeted and destroyed the country’s future by killing young people who were having their good time in the beach area.

The PM also condoled with the families who lost their loved ones and wished quick recovery to those who were injured.
