PM Barre Chairs Key Security Meeting in Mogadishu

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre Tuesday chaired a high profile security meeting in Mogadishu.

The meeting, attended by top security agency heads was convened to deliberate over the ongoing war against the Al-shabaab and assess the progress made in the offensive aimed at eradicating the militants from all parts of the country.

The Prime Minister re-emphasized the Federal Government’s resolve to ensure peace and stability is restored across the country so as to enable Somali people to embark on development and nation building.

The meeting reflects the Federal Government’s proactive approach to address both domestic and foreign threats and strengthen national defense capabilities.

The meeting was attended by Ministers, Commanders of the Somali National Army, the Somali Police Chief, the Director of the National Intelligence and Security Agency, and the Deputy Governor for Peace and Politics of the Banadir Administration.
