PM Hamza issues directive on appointment and dismissal of public servants
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: Hamza Abdi Barre, the prime minister of Somalia, has prohibited his new cabinet members from removing or transferring officials from their jobs outside of the parameters outlined in the nation’s labor code and the constitution.
According to Hamza, it is essential to protect the rights of government workers in order to maintain a confident and qualified workforce. He instructed his cabinet to contact his office before making any decisions on staff suspensions, transfers, or terminations.
Numerous government employees have expressed concern that the country’s political developments may result in them losing their employment.
The directive comes a few days after parliament approved the newly appointed cabinet by the Somali Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi.
