PM Hamza visits SNA base at Adan-Yabal to ramp up efforts against Al-shabaab

GOOBJOOG NEWS | HIRSHABELLE: Federal Republic of Somalia Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre visited the Somali National Army’s base at Adan-Yabal district in Hirshabelle State Wednesday for a meeting with top Somali National Army Commanders.

The meeting evaluated the progress of the ongoing war against the Al-Shabaab in the region as the Federal government gears towards the second phase of the war scheduled to kick off in coming months.

The Prime Minister also evaluated the conditions in areas recently liberated from Al-Shabaab’s influence.

His visit coincides with the extended stay of Federal Government of Somalia’s president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, in Dhusamareb, the administrative hub of Galmudug.

The president has been there for the past month, directing the combat operations against Al-Shabaab in the central regions where he urged the National Army to maintain momentum in the ongoing campaign, particularly as they approach the conclusion of the first phase of operations against the extremist group.
