Beyle briefs PM on outcome of SMP4 review

Finance Minister Abdirahman Beyle today briefed Prime Minister Hassan Khaire on the recent IMF meeting in Addis Ababa where the two parties reviewed the progress of the Staff Monitored Programme 4.

Beyle said the government was committed to ensuring the country gets debt relief to enable it access development support in form of concessional loans and other much-needed credit opportunities to prosper.

“There has been much success so far & we remain focused on achieving further fiscal & economic reforms to take forward our debt cancellation aspirations,” Beyle said in a tweet.

The SMP IV which was runs between May 2019-July 2020 will support the authorities’ continued reform efforts, laying the foundation for greater self-sufficiency and higher and more inclusive growth.
