PM Roble appoints electoral support team as poll process rolls on

GOOBJOOG NEWS/MOGADISHU: Prime Minister Mohamed Roble has appointed a team of seven individuals to support him in the preparation and conduct of elections scheduled for August this year.
The Office of the Prime Minister announced Tuesday the appointments which include two women and five men.
The team will be headed by Abdullahi Elmi Ali. The PM has also tapped the services of former chairman of the 2016 electoral team Omar Mohamed Abdulle to serve as the senior legal advisor to the PM on the electoral process.
Others  are Fadumo Abdi Ali who will be in charge of finance and operations, Mohamed Mohamed Roble (capacity building and training) and Liban Rabila Good (Security).
Laila Abdirahman Mohamed will be tasked with gender and inclusivity while Abdullahi Hashi Hassan will take up the civil society and engagement assignment.
The team is expected to engage with the state and federal level electoral teams in preparations for the Indirect elections set to happen by August in line with the Mogadishu II Agreement signed on May 27.
