Police Command Vows Stronger Security, Crackdown on Narcotics

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Police Force (SPF) Commander Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi has said that the police would step up vigilance and tighten operations to improve public safety, following a leadership meeting in Mogadishu.

Joined by Deputy Commander Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi, the police chiefs discussed new strategies to prevent illegal activity, enforce discipline across units and intensify the fight against narcotics, which they described as a growing threat.

The commanders also pledged to modernize service delivery for citizens, including upgrading police centers and improving efficiency in handling public requests.

Officials said the initiatives reflect the government’s wider push for institutional reform and transparency, showcased at the ongoing “Dan-Qaran Government’s Performance Exhibition (2022–2025).”

The police leadership said boosting operational capacity and accountability remained central to Somalia’s broader national security strategy.
