Police in Puntland Seize Boat Carrying Weapons

GOOBJOOG NEWS|BARI; Security forces in Puntland have seized a boat allegedly carrying weapons amid reports that weapons could be destined for piracy.
Puntland Police Force said in a statement that the forces seized the boat on the shores of Ras Aseyr in the eastern tip of Bari region. The commander of police in the region Fu’ad Mohamud Garab-Yare told journalists three people who were aboard the boat were also arrested.
He added that the weapons were of high calibre and could have been on the way to aid pirates. Cases of piracy have been on the uptick in Puntland in recent weeks.
