Police Launch Major Security and Anti-Drug Operation in Buuhoodle, Somaliland

GOOBJOOG NEWS|TOGDHEER: Police in Somaliland have conducted a large-scale security operation in the town of Buuhoodle and surrounding areas as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and combat the spread of narcotics.
Speaking to the media following the operation, Togdheer Regional Police Commander Fahad Abdikarin said authorities would take firm action against anyone involved in activities that threaten public security or contribute to the distribution of illegal drugs.
He noted that the operation forms part of broader efforts to enhance security across the region and safeguard local communities. The commander also called on residents to cooperate closely with security agencies in preventing criminal activities and maintaining law and order.
“The success of these efforts depends on strong collaboration between the public and security institutions,” Fahad said, emphasizing the importance of community support in tackling security threats and drug-related crimes.
The operation comes shortly after police in Togdheer received new vehicles and security equipment aimed at improving their operational capacity. Authorities say the additional resources will enhance the force’s ability to combat crime, conduct patrols, and respond more effectively to security challenges across the region.
