Police Spokesperson issues statement on bomb attack targeted at Mogadishu police boss
GOOBJOOG NEWS|MOGADISHU: The Somali Police Spokesperson Abdifatah Aden Hassan has released details surrounding last night’s explosion targeting Mogadishu Police boss, Farhan Qarole in Mogadishu.
Abdifatah Aden said a roadside bomb exploded as Commander Farhan was traveling on the road between Mogadishu and Afgoye district, particularly from the village of Calamada in the lower Shabelle region.
The spokesman said that the explosion resulted in casualties to both soldiers and civilians, adding that one civilian and three police officers were killed and eight others were injured.
The Police Spokesperson noted that Commander Farhan Qaroole had survived the deadly blast which the Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group Al-Shabaab, has claimed responsibility for, saying that it had wounded six bodyguards.
