President Farmajo’s visit in Djibouti
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and a delegation he was leading arrived in Djibouti on Tuesday morning, becoming his 9th foreign trip since he took the oath of office in February 2017.
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo and his delegates from Somalia were highly welcomed by the ministers, members of parliament of Djibouti and all the different parts of the community in Arta.
President Farmajo thanked the people of Arta for the hosting of the Somali delegates who took part in the establishment of the Somali government, saying that the people of Somalia are grateful for the charity of the government and the people of Djibouti for their Somali brothers.
“This town is in the heart of the Somali people in a great location. It is a city that revives the hope of the Somali people. It is a city that has become a symbol of generosity. ”
“We thank all the Djiboutian people and especially the Artan’s for the goodwill of the Somali people in the world during the whole of Somalia,” said the President.
The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia,Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo was welcomed by ministers of Djibouti government including, the minister of defence Ali Hassan Baahdoon, the Minister of Interior and National Security, Hassan Omar, Minister of Education and Research Mr Mustafe Mohammed, Minister of Transport Mohamed Abdulkadir, Minister of Culture and Religious Affairs, Muumin Hassan Barre and Djiboutian Ambassador to Somalia Adan Hassan (Beleloo).
President Farmajo is expected to meet with his Djiboutian counterpart Ismail Omar Gelleh, to discuss the fraternal bilateral relations, security and the fight against Al Shabaab in Somalia.
He will stay in Djibouti in the coming three days, sources said.
Djibouti is one of five East African countries who contributed troops to the AU’s mission in Somalia, who are battling Al shabaab for ten years.
Somali President, who attended the Arab-Islamic American summit held in Riyadh on Sunday, will travel to Qatar on official visit after receiving an official invitation from Doha.

The president is scheduled to stay in Arta this afternoon to hold separate meetings with different sections of the community.
