President Mohamud Addresses 5th Session of the Bicaleral Parliament

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal Government of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud Saturday said Ethiopia was attempting to seek reconciliation with Somalia through other countries but its actions does not indicate an intention to a peaceful resolution.

President Mohamud also pointed out that Somalia is open to peaceful relations with neighboring countries while reaffirming the commitment to protect the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In his speech during the opening of the joint session of the Federal Parliament’s 5th session, President Hassan further emphasized the importance of completing the provisional constitution as a crucial step towards good governance and democracy.

He told the bicameral Federal Parliament that stabilization programs have been launched in liberated areas to enhance the delivery of basic public services.

President Mohamud also reiterated that the government is not in talks or any dialogue with the Al-Shabaab militant group.
