President Mohamud Appoints Mohamed Ahmed Amiir as New Mogadishu Mayor

GOOBJOOG NEWS | MOGADISHU: Federal government of Somalia president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has appointed Mohamed Ahmed Amiir as the new Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, replacing Yusuf Hussein Jimaale Madale, who has held the position since September 7, 2022.

Amiir, an expert in economic, social development, and administration, has been tasked with; completing development plans for Mogadishu, enhancing the city’s beauty, expanding basic services, strengthening security and providing public elections

President Mohamud wished Amiir success in his new role, emphasizing efficiency, honesty, and diligence.
