President Mohamud Attends AfDB Conference in Kenya
GOOBJOOG NEWS | NAIROBI: Federal Republic of Somalia’s president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud is part of dignitaries attending the annual meeting of the African Development Bank (AfDB), which commenced yesterday in Nairobi, Kenya.
The conference, which centers on reshaping Africa’s financial structure brings together presidents from various African countries along with the heads of the AfDB to discuss and strategize on the continent’s financial future.
Somalia has achieved various milestones in financial reforms which has led to debt forgiveness, indicating a growing trust on the country by various global financial institutions.
“Somalia has reached a good level in the direction, management, and administration of its finances, which has resulted in the forgiveness of the country’s debt. Global financial institutions such as the World Bank, IMF, and AfDB now trust the Somali government in its financial management capabilities,” a government’s news release reads in part.
The president is also expected to hold high level meetings with other African heads of states attending the conference, underscoring the collaborative spirit and shared aspirations among the continent’s leaders in addressing financial and economic challenges.
The conference in Nairobi provides a platform for Somalia to showcase its financial reforms and engage in high-level discussions aimed at reshaping Africa’s financial landscape.
